20% ofthemusicfromtheAustralianmusicchartswerecreatedhere, andthree to fouroftheir hit-singlesregularlyoccupiedthe top. Thefounderof Albert Productions,Ted Albert signedinthemid-sixtieswiththetwobiggestAustralianbandsofthat era – BillyThorpe&TheAztecsandTheEasybeats. ThealbumshavebeenreleasedinconjunctionwiththerecordcompanyParlophone, andincluded some of Australia’s greatesthitsever. Ted Albert andShelTalmyproducedthe most songs.
Afterthehugesuccessandgrowth,whentheirpopularitybegan to fall, theyfunded a film ‘StrictlyBallroom’. AlbertsProductionswasalsoresponsible for theentiresoundtrack, andthe film andmusicquicklybecame a worldwide hit.
