Their single ‘Croatia’ put a smile on our faces and a little optimism in this gloomy time. Of course, this is the ska-rock band October Light who released a new studio album ‘Free’ (Aquarius Records), and a few days ago signed a publishing contract with Aquarius Music Publishing.
The album contains 14 songs, three of which are written in Croatian language, and the rest in English – which is due to the fact that these guys almost 90 percent of their concerts perform abroad. They collaborated with one of the greats of American ska scene, Matt Morginsky (OC Supertones), with whom in 2010 they recorded album ‘Everything Will Be Made Right”’. Entire album has international character as it is mixed and mastered in the U.S., and the song ‘Last Time’ is mixed by Hans Martin Buff, who’s been working with Grammy winner – Prince. When you listen to songs from their new album at the moment you think you are miraculously back in the eighties, but the other song will take you to the intense rock concert, ‘Lavish Love’ is a example of reggae while flugelhorn solos in the song ‘Soul Cloud‘ will take you in the New York jazz club.
