David Lemaitre was born and raised in the high mountains of Bolivia. When he turned twenty he moved to Berlin and listened to all different kinds of music that influenced his work – from Nick Drake to Noir Desir and Kraftwerk. The result is a series of stories that combine the introspective voice of Elliott Smith with great reverb, strings and cascades of lo-fi electronica. As in the heyday of the Sin-é-cafes in New York, David Lemaitre fills only with a guitar and looping devices, and sometimes with the cellist and multi instrumentalist Philipp Thimm, small venues and cafes.
In autumn 2010 he published his first EP VALEDICTION. Whether he composes minimalist or electronic art pop acoustic songs in the future is not important for now: “One can not ultimately plan what he is dreaming tonight …”.
