Zagreb and Split are stations of world music attraction Gregorian! Unique German choir under the leadership of Frank Peterson in hall Gripe, Split performs on 8th March and day after, 9th March, they are in Zagreb, in hall Dražen Petrović. Inspired by Gregorian chant, Gregorian performs well known pop and rock songs, and on this tour called “The Dark Side Of The Chant Tour” promotes the album “Masters Of Chant Vol. VII” which contains hits of Guns ‘n’ Roses, U2, ABBA, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, Snow Patrol, and latest album “The Dark Side Of The Chant”. Except for their unique style of singing Gregorian also has interesting stage performance in robes of monks.

During the 11-year career Gregorian concerts attended more than one million people worldwide, and they sold more than five million copies of CDs and DVDs. Their work is also recognized in the movie industry so they collaborated on films like “Harry Potter”, “The Lord of the Rings” and the film series “Star Wars”.

With more than 140,000 records sold of his “Berlin Calling” soundtrack and the albums “Time”, “Self” and “Superimpose” which have been released since the beginning of his career, Paul Kalkbrenner is one of the most important artists in electronic music. What began in the late nineties in East Berlin reached its peak in 2008: Paul Kalkbrenner acted as DJ Ikarus in the now legendary techno movie “Berlin Calling”. A successful tour all across Europe followed. 65,000 people visited his shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in which he only performs his own works. At the end of 2010 the live DVD “2010 – A live documentary” was released. It contains hits such as “Sky & Sand”, “Aaron” or “Since 77” and many other impressively recorded songs from 20 live concerts in different European cities.

Faithless in Zagreb!

Lovers of electronic music in Zagreb, can enjoy in real musical treat. In the small hall of Dom Sportova, on 19th March perform British Faithless what will be their biggest solo performance in front of the local audience.
With six studio albums sold in more than 12 million copies Faithless is deservedly placed among the most wanted performers of electronic music. Faithless present in Zagreb their current album “The Dance”, which reached gold edition in UK. Their songs  “Insomnia”, “God is a DJ” and “We Come 1” became hit songs and brought them worldwide fame.

Hans Zimmer close to win an Oscar!

Renowned film music composer Hans Zimmer is again close to winning an Oscar! Zimmer was nominated for a music in film “Inception”, directed by Christopher Nolan, in category ‘Music: original score’.
In 30 years of work Zimmer has composed music for over 100 films. In 1994th he won an Oscar for the animated film “The Lion King”. Music for the film “Inception” is his 9th Oscar nomination, and previous nominations include work on films like “Rain Man”, “Gladiator”, “The Thin Red Line”, “Sherlock Holmes” and etc.
83rd Academy Awards will be held on 27th February in Los Angeles.

Cubismo celebrates 15 years in the Hypo centre!

With big birthday concert in the Hypo center, Cubismo 19th February (Saturday) is celebrating 15 years of work. On the concert will sing two former singers Ricardo Luque and Guillermo Espinosa, and as special guests will appear Bilenta Sali’s and Teresa Garcia Caturla’s Kocani Orchestra from Buena Vista Social Club.
Live performances have always been a Cubismo specialty so this is an exceptional opportunity to dance and enjoy the rich repertoire of Cubismo . Cubismo released six studio albums, two compilations and concert DVD “Live in Lisinski” for which was rewarded with 21 Porin awards.

The concert will be held in the hall Kornati Hypo centre starting at 20.30 hours. Tickets priced at 110 kn find at Tvornica kulture (Ljudevita Posavskog 1), Daily News (Hypo Centre) and through the Eventim system.

There is almost no music critic and relevant charts that Nikolina (Nina) Romic’s album “Daljine” haven’t included among the top 5 domestic edition published in 2010. year. Nina’s voice and guitar, already won a music critic, but still she is collecting loyal listeners who enjoy intimate concerts and everything that is not instant, but has an air of permanent, continuous, dedicated. Nina is often the very driving force of musical concerts which brings together other talented musicians.
Everybody who imagined song “Daljine” soon will be able to see how it was imagined by Nina and Jasmina Bijron, director of music video.
